Red, White, and Blue

Utopian thinking is so stupid.
Humans can't live in peace.
Humans can only be at war.
We need to dig up everything
and cover it all with concrete
in a quest to make sure
that we have used every resource
to create added value
even beyond the capacity
of others to buy and use it.

We all need all this stuff
to make us totally happy
because the more stuff
that you have the happier
you tend to be according to
a poll that shows that 93%
of Americans are happier
when their closets are bulging
and their yards are immaculate.

Now if only we can find a few
people we hate so that we can keep
ourselves from thinking about
the other Americans we don't know
and the billions of people we avoid
paying attention to while we watch
commercials for things we don't like
so that can spend money we don't have
doing retail therapy to keep ourselves
from ever having to think about
the fact that everything we know
is predigested news that is churned out
in order to log jam our minds
into thinking nothing at all
except to vote against what we have
been told that we need to hate.

Peace and love?  What a stupid idea!
Let's bury those hippies in body bags
made out of American flags made in China.
