My Cinnamon Girl

How to describe the sorceress who bewitched me
Casting a spell on my heart the moment we met

Flowing curly hair the color of burnt autumn
Spinkles of cinnamon on her fair skin

Those softest brown eyes that must have inspired dear Van
An impish grin that still turns me on anytime, anywhere

A fiesty lady who oozes confident sultry seduction
Helping me to gorge on all thirty-two flavors

But after the early entwined seductions, a love affair
One that's lasted over twenty five years

Gently holding hands whenever we can
Finishing each other's sentences, but in a good way

Playfully rubbing my forearm ever so softly
A blend of reassurance and friskiness

When our lips meet I taste the sweetness
that I can still remember like wild May strawberries

Searching her out on cold winter nights
Feeling the warmth of her feet against mine

She's seen me at my best and my worst
Always believing in me even when I've stopped

My bestest friend and true soul mate
How I do love thee, my cinnamon girl
