Blue eyed boy

A gentle breeze carries leaves across the ground
The sun has just risen, and birds are singing
Dew drops sparkle on glass
He smiles at me, his dimple showing
Hair still wet from an early morning shower
He smells of toothpaste, and shampoo
I knew, today was goodbye
But I kept lying to myself
Kept forgetting
An hour before school starts, and we take a walk down Main Street
Drinking energy drinks, and eating doughnuts
I try not to think
Barely any words are spoken
We were friends for 4 years, and silence was our communication
There was no need for words
"I have something for you"
He says, as I lightly touch the neclace he had given me the year before on Christmas
"what is it?" I ask nervously
He Pulls out a small carboard box, and places it in my hand, then walks away
Inside is a ring
I remembered seeing it, when we had gone to the amusement park
A mood ring, with dolphins wraping around it
I found a small slip of paper inside
'best friends forever'
That was the last time I saw him
He moved away, and shortly after, I moved even farther away

But I will never forget my blue eyed boy
