After School Sunshine
After School Sunshine
All she wanted was sleep
Plain and simple
No more homework, no more yelling just sleep.
Her week had been crap
Detention sent at least 6 times
Stupid people with no sense of humor.
Getting off the bus
Heading to her charitable destination
Stupid graduation requirements.
Inhaling deeply and praying for patience
Relaxed her face and counted to 20
She may be tired but she was truly happy.
Ringing on the doorbell
Two little boys smiled radiantly
Such infectious grins she couldn't contain.
The moment she walked in
20 orphans ran in her direction
All so happy to see her.
She came here once a week
They would play, study and fight
Yet she loved each one of them.
All she wanted was sleep
Plain and simple
No more homework, no more yelling just sleep.
Her week had been crap
Detention sent at least 6 times
Stupid people with no sense of humor.
Getting off the bus
Heading to her charitable destination
Stupid graduation requirements.
Inhaling deeply and praying for patience
Relaxed her face and counted to 20
She may be tired but she was truly happy.

Yet she loved each one of them.
