Colors

A black ink line is drawn
Across the sky
And drips onto a
White colorless city
The ground tears open
And a brilliant red
Erupts and paints the sides
Of the black and white town.
From the earth
Vibrant yellow thorns,
Grow and spot the corners with
Color.
A puddle of black slowly
Starts to stream into a
Deep indigo blue.
This blue dyes the streets
With its rare shade.
A thorn breaks off
And drops into a pool
Of red and beautifully
Bright orange trees
Sprout and rise tall.
Indigo streams mesh
With violent red
And violet butterfly's
Appear and flap their wings.
Decorating the trees.
A second yellow thorn
Is carried by the wind
And glides into the indigo
Stream. Splashes of glowing
Green polkadot the once colorless city.
As tendrils of green, reach out to wrap
Around the branches and wings.
The white starts to melt,
And the black begins to drip
Different shades form before my eyes.
Every shade takes hold, pink horses run free in marroon grasses.
And cerulean squirrels
Crack olive walnuts.
The city that once was colorless and dead is now alive and colorful.
All because
a black ink line is Drawn
across the sky.
