Sheltered Words

Why do I see through
the not so distant past
when those words came from you?
Now they seem said to another direction
I ask myself why even bother..in my reflection.
Well I do.......
because soft and melodic music
is where I will find you.
Kissing me gently at the stroke
of midnight
and bathing me with sonnets
by the flickering candle light.
I want to tell you goodbye at times
but just when I imagine it
that's not where I find my mind.
I find it locked onto you.
The depth and the calm
that exudes
that beckoned me to be
me and write these words I do.
As I write them now
I wonder where this night finds you.
Are you dreaming of me or of she
or of nothing?
I may seem seductively laced
but I know you have looked deep
into my face and seen the heart
that cannot embrace
a life without passion
those moments
can't be erased.

Those delicate and heated moments
deep in the chamber of my soul.
I unlock the door from time to time
and remember the spaces between the lines.
The quickened pace where I did find
a reason again to have love inside.
But it slipped, slipped

I don't know exactly why.
I hear familiar rustles
within the walls.
Is it you I hear in a faint
yet distinctive call?
Where will the dripping dewdrops
now fall?
Seduced and rapturous
we dared it all.
Did it wither into the darkness
and into the illusive dusk?
A hidden haze is revealed
beneath the moonlight's trust.
It beckons the aura
that resides between us
and whispers to the dreams
to fly once more.
The translucent orb is rising
above the distant shore.
Hear the crash of turquoise water
see the clouds roll through the sky.
Know that as I write this
It's you my love
that is sealed on my mind.
