A Plee for Justice

Why do you yell
scream
mutilate
When all we ask
is for you to leave our love to it's own devices?

We do not ask for you to marry us
nor to use your churches.
We only want what you have.
To show our love
to marry
to join hands with that one person we cannot live without
and never part.

Why is that so wrong?
Why is it ok for you
But not us?

I beg of you congressmen,
Set aside your religious reasons
and listen to us.
Open minded
Open hearted.
Just listen
to the cries,
the suffering
of your people.

Church and state are seperate
so please,
seperate them in yourself.
Do not force us
to hide the truth of our love.
Allow us to join hands
as you have.

Allow us happiness.
Marriage is not the same as a civil union.
They do not allow the same rights,
rights we need to function as a people.
Allow us what you have
Suport gay marriage.
