a day at the library

Sun too bright on my face
it's like tourists day out
at the library; my place of solitude
overrun by the chatter and excitement

And while I get that books
are something to get excited over
I've no idea why anyone would choose
this library to bring tourists to

The scenery outside is much more interesting
with the muted green of the Aussie bush
there's even a bird watching club
just down the road
(though I don't know why people
want to watch birds either)

And now after an hour
of headache inducing tourists
the library has returned to its quiet
but my head still aches in memory of them
