In The Water

I can't say I am absolute on creation
But if an animal I could pick to be
I would like to be a dolphin
And travel from sea to sea

As a human I know enough about terrain
From the deserts to the alps and more
National geographic led me to the poles
Know well what an isthmus is for

And while the sky may have it's freedom
Gravity's pull can be very harsh
I would hate to be taken down by a hunter
And find a grave in a yucky marsh

The main predator for the dolphin
Is in reality not even the shark
Rather humans usually looking for tuna
With nets that miss their mark

A killer whale would be a close second
But the hunts for food a bit too raw for my tastes
Although a shark has those replaceable teeth
Imagine that a few that you could waste!

No I enjoy the grace of a dolphin's travel
The jumps out of water and play
Most humans seem to like them
Some could watch them all of the day!

True parasites and disease can be problems
But in a way they are a danger to us all
A tick or mite can trigger breathing difficulties
Even the healthiest of humans may fall

No the thing that would bother me
Is the nature of some of their sexual displays
The violence that may sometimes be triggered
Not agreeable to any of my human ways

So the lion my claim the land
A whale is majesty may claim the sea
But if I come back an animal
The dolphin is the one for me!
