Melt

(collab of Chameleon and Prophet)
(I.)

Now, we must inevitably greet time headlong
Like ice cubes melting in the bottom of a glass
Eventually, all the clinking slows down
Then all that is frozen solid is reduced to water

You see, it's all coming together
We're all coming together
This is not a loss - the ice is but changing
As we melt, we are both coming together and being set free

Our pursuit is about transformation and reinvention
That which fluxuates and adapts soon succeeds
Taking on form is to adopt prediction as a way of being
But to alter our mind, like a chameleon does its skin, instills life

Let go of the lines that define us and become formless
Destiny awaits for those brave enough to pursue it
Nothing stays the same for long, nor do the seasons
Melt or be melted, condense, expand, and in one breath, live

(II.)

Just as we lay next to each other upon the floor
And our bodies melt together
We momentarily become one
As our legs intertwine like clinging vines

I fall into you, as you fall into me
Clutching at the beauty of each moment
For but an instant, in a morning of rest
Until the magnetic force that pulls us together
Flips its polarity and sends us rushing apart

Our embrace in the infinite space that we create
Extends beyond the physical and forever changes us
We are one and the same, two souls seeking completion
Yet the heart knows well the pain that comes with love

So it is that love is the driving force behind change
The truth within the beauty of the human heart
Whether twisted or straight, all paths converge upon it
And like ice to water to mist, we melt, but constant is Love
