Jessie
"My life is so fucked up yo
I don't know what to do.
My parents done dissed me
So called friends won't even phone me
I feel so far away from home
and the devil just won't leave me alone"
God, if you are listening
Please father, show me love.
My life is filled with trouble
Give me peace from above
......I need you now."
Jessie, yep she was my child.
Maybe not by blood but all the while
She felt like mine.
They all did.
All along the long, wide halls
They called them "Archie's Kids"
I always heard if you train your kids right
Hold them close to your heart
Reassure them of your love
and kiss them every single night
When troubles come, they won't depart
but Jessie did.......
.....and it broke my heart.
Two days ago, Jessie and Raven spoke
"Girl, I got this hangover
Feel like dust all up in my throat."
"One day Raven, I'm gon' get myself right
But until then, I'm gonna' give up this fight
I'm gonna' keep doin' me, aight?
You know I luvs you sis so keep your game tight."
She was a lesbian, an addict
We loved her just the same.
Raven and Jessie are 2 of a kind
walking down the same dark, dismal path......claiming "they both got game."
Two days ago, I awakened from a terrible dream
People everywhere were running
There were horrifying screams......
....of terror.
I hear a terrible thud and
I hear the breaking of glass
I point my car down the highway
I drive off really fast.
South on 158, I really didn't know where I was going.
The closer I got to town, the more the traffic started slowing.....
......till it came to a stop.
I jumped from my car.
I could see ambulances and fire trucks.
There were inconsolable screams and wailing
I could hear this from a far.
As I drew closer to the scene,
a hand brushed across my head.
It was the hand of my daughter, Raven
"Daddy, Jessie is dead."
I fell to my knees
I pleaded. "God why?"
I screamed into the darkness
until my eyes could no longer cry.
They said Jessie caught a ride with a guy everyone called "Toad"
They were running 80 or 90 when the car left the road.
Jessie's body was ejected
through the windsheild's safety glass.
Her body horrifically smashed into several trees
She was balled up in a fetal position
When she took her last......
......breath.
They were going to the liquor store.
Trying to get there before it closed.
From the wreckage, he screamed "I'm so sorry"
I didn't see that car pull out into the road....."
Some may call it fate, I just call it sad.
I've never ever had anything in this life
hurt me so damned bad.
Still, I thank God for his mercy.
They said she never felt a thing.
She was buried on a Saturday
They buried her down by the quiet,Chocoyote spring.
She was taken for a reason
One we may never understand.
The ways of the "Most High God"
It's part of his perfect plan.
It's my hope that in Jessie's death
Other lives were saved.
Raven walked right in Jessie's footsteps
A path of loneliness, sadness, discontent, and self destruction was layed.
In the master's infinite wisdom,
at her birth, this day was cast.
Heaven now has my *Jessie*
She's found peace at last.......
.......I Love You Jessie.

No,she wasn't my physical child, but she was special to all of us who knew her. If you aren't a person of faith or this disturbs you, please just leave this read alone. *Tears* I feel your pain and I see your healing! Tragedy has touch my life too, so I can relate to this read deeply! And I co-sign 1000% about family doesn't equate to blood all the time. It is LOVE that bonds you, not DNA! I applaud you for sharing something so personally painful with us! May the sweet memories shared live on! RIP Beautiful Jessie!
