Enlisting the General
Instead of declaring war on other kingdoms and on other
We need to declare war on ourselves.
Most do not realize it but the human mind,
Controlled by the ego,
Along with the five senses
Of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch
Is waging war on us.
Instead of us being the masters
We have become their slaves.
They are an army which is keeping us prisoner
In our own kingdom -
By indulging in the five deadly passions of
Lust, anger, greed, attachment, and ego.
Our consciousness (soul),
The real power behind this army
Has itself become a prisoner in its own kingdom.
Take a moment to look at this situation
And understand what, inside us, is doing the looking -
What is realizing this is the real us the "I AM"
That has been obscured by the egoic mind, senses,
And the five deadly passions.
The "Real Us" needs to declare war on our egoic self.
It will not be easy to gain control over the five wild senses,
That like five wild horses
Have been running free since the beginning of time.
It will not be easy to stop indulging
In the five deadly passions -
Which with the help of the five senses
Are bringing about our annihilation.
Our consciousness (soul) is supposed to be in control
Of this kingdom, however it is fast asleep
And the servants of the King are controlling the kingdom.
Our mind should be in control
Of the five wild horses (our senses)
However, it too, has come under their domination
Allowing them to run helter-skelter down the road to destruction.
Behold and see -
Our kingdom is upside down
Being controlled by the servants instead of their masters.
How do we fight such a battle?
Deep in our consciousness (soul)
There is a Great General
Who will help us turn our kingdom right side up.
This general is non other than the Master Saint
Who lives within us after our initiation
Into the light and sound of God.
It is this Great General
Who will enlist God's forces of light and sound
That will give us control over our inner kingdom -
So that we become, once again, the masters of our own destiny.
We need to declare war on ourselves.
Most do not realize it but the human mind,
Controlled by the ego,
Along with the five senses
Of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch
Is waging war on us.
