Maggie Maybe

Dear Maggie, Dear Margret, My dear
When I was much younger
My mind filled with great wonder
Each time that I looked in your eyes
But I was afraid you might turn me away
In a direction I'd been turned before

Dear Maggie, My Margret, My dear
As the years passed me by
Tears misted in my eyes
When I heard you loved another guy
And now you've broken up
Time has brushed me with luck
But is it good or bad luck that I've won?

My Maggie, My Margret, My dear
I really hope all my love
Will give you the shove
That you need to fall in love with me
But if you want more time
Before you'll be mine
Then take as much as you need to be free
