This is for tears
the ones I can't cry
though I know
that's because
I'm not by your side
This is for freedom
and an end to the pain
For all new beginnings
as we set out again
This is for children
putting hope in their hearts
Bringing laughter and joy
in a world of new starts
This is for faith
that the faithless may rise
for sharing and giving
with smiles in our eyes
This is our dream
that we've known all along
we just have to change
the path that we're on
Today we are lost
to hatred and greed
if only we'd see
that love's all we need
Tomorrow is waiting
for our wrongs to be right
as we step from the dark
and into the light

This came to me in a flash the other day, Jonathan. I've got a head melody for it, so that's a start. The better song lyrics I write generally arrive super quick - tho I've never figured out why. Thanks for putting this on your reading list and I appreciate your kind words.
