sing me a memory

Down at the bar,
Just the other day,
An old man walked in,
With his look of dismay.

His clothes were tattered,
And torn all to shreds,
His sorrow growing deeper,
With each tear he sheds.

He walked on over,
And sat next to me,
I asked him,
What his problem could be.

He looked at me teary eyed,
And proceded to say,
My wife is gone,
She died today.

He said sing me a memory,
Of days gone by,
Just please forgive me,
If I break down and cry.

He ordered scotch,
And two beers,
Hoping they would aid him,
In forgetting his fears.

He said,
Just yesterday it seems,
I looked into her eyes,
And saw a vibrant gleem.

Seems just last week,
I was helping her sneek out,
And being with eachother,
Was all we worried about.

I know things I said,
And I know that we fought,
I thought it was worth it,
But now I know its not.

He said son if you have someone,
Special that means the world to you,
Tell them you love them,
And show them you do.

Thats all I can say,
I'm afraid I must go,
Enjoy what you have now,
Just take things slow.

Always take chances,
Even if the courage you lack,
Because once the moments gone,
You won't get it back.
