Empty Shell
Look in the mirror
What do I see?
This empty girl
Staring back at me
Scars etched into her
Pale skin so fair
Frightened ever changing eyes
Dishwater blonde hair
Chipped fingernail polish
Eyeliner smudged to hell
A shaking hand holds the knife
She knows so very well
Blood running down her thighs
That she wishes were much smaller
If only she was thinner
If only she was taller
Longing to be held
I can see it in her eyes
No one else can see it
Only I can hear her silent cries
Never satisfied with herself
She slams her fist into the mirror
The empty shell of a girl once known
Stares back in utter horror
Hollow as can be
She drops slowly to her knees
Deteriorating deep inside
But no one hears her pleas...
