Present Day Sequel
Chaos rises before the sun even sets
Racing against time pedal to the floor
Pump the brakes on these vile threats
Robbing people and taking some more
So over the top his brain’s out to lunch
Under a corporate umbrella of confusion
Made the deal and received a gut punch
This paper tiger is another grand illusion
Distortion cuts through silence with rage
This present day sequel of the Gilded Age

Love these words. I can see them in a metal song. Truth, powerful and something to ponder about. Infectious write Damian.

I can't help but think the idiot who bankrupted 6 businesses is about to bankrupt his next conquer...this country & its people. But those who pay his way will only come out the richer...in money anyway. Bankrupt in compassion & goodness all around. I'll take broke ass poor with a soul & heart over empty emotion & full bank vaults any day. Another rousing write, my friend

"As cold as a bankers heart." Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write, my friend. This whole regime breeds incompetence, they're not very bright either. Except when it comes to conning people, that is their only gift. The dirtier the better, it swings the odds in their favor. Saddest thing is some people believe all billionaires are smart, or they work harder, when in fact it's all handed to them, and they keep the rest of us shackled down, so that they can keep that wealth and expand upon it. Sorry for the rant. I was making myself mad by stating the facts. lol. Appreciate you.

Everything is sugarcoated, even the 'gold' lol. I am finding deep meanings in this write. The theme I strongly suspect is one of fakery, where we as a society all too easily go along with something that isn't really that real.

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Billy. So glad you connected with the write my friend. The truth is glossed over, rumors, narrative, point of view, optics, are what rule today. It is fakery, you're spot on. Appreciate you.

Nice flow here. You give direction "justice" in defining what's wrong with modern day culture. Smooth transitions in rhyme and conciseness as well. Each line packs a punch, upon building to the ultimate, which is the struggle of humanity unto downfall. I like the theme. It's good to be on guard in the world scene and being aware of what's going on. We are destruction bound, and you seem to mince no words here. That's 'what I like about it the most. Anyway, again, good job overall, and thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, brother. So glad you connected with the write, my friend. We are indeed destruction bound. It seems some are waking up to that reality, sadly for some of them it had to hit them personally to even care. It's getting harder to hide the evil in the world, unless one chooses to ignore it. Always enjoy your commentary, brother. Appreciate you.
