Jackie's Book of Shadows (CH13)
Chapter 13
I
Skies clearing – Stars peering.
Blood moon in the sky...
An entire circumference
of creatures drawing circles,
squares, triangles and strange
symbols in the Earth,
generating energetic constructs
for ceremonial sacrifice.
After the last symbol is drawn,
each construct rises into a
pyramid structure, a circle of
ascendant pyramids, at first
static, then materializing into
solid structures.
In the center of The Field of
Moonlight, a larger pyramid
rises, lifting the wicker man
and a terrified Jumper with it,
into a spiraling sky.
II
Rianne, The Oracle of the
Trees, eyes fluttering butterfly
wings, enters a trancelike state,
viewing the holocaust of chaos
from the perspective of an out
of body experience…
III
Chucky stands atop pyramid,
bloody butcher knife in one
hand, decapitated head in
other, intense flashes of lightning
in the background, laughing
hysterical.
The Leprechaun pogos a
smushed skull.
Batman holds a human heart
to the sky, taking a bite.
The Gremlins an overlapping
of chaos laughing.
The Cipheric Magicians opening
strange portals performing
strange rituals.
IV
Then the other witches of the
coven, an overabundance of
sacrifices, stabbing and gashing,
spewed blood from gaping
wounds of flesh.
Conclusions of laugher, perfectly
mixing into the chaos.
V
Atop the Wicker Pyramid, Jackie
exclaims:
“Hail to the guardians of the
watchtowers of the East!”
Holding a gleaming dagger
skyward, running clouds appearing
above her head, a bolt of
lightning hitting the dagger tip.
“I hope it was as good for you
as it was for me.”
Jackie plunges the knife in
Jumper’s heart.
VI
Jackie, Rianne, Blu, Honoria float
to the sides of the apex, leaving
a still alive Jumper to be consumed
by flames.
A brilliant flash, incinerated out
of this dimension of existence
in an instant.
Floating back to the apex of the
Wicker Pyramid, there is only
a small pile of ashes which remains.
VII
Atop the pyramid, a scene of
carnage below, the ladies hold
hands, palms beginning to glow.
VIII
Out in the ocean a ripple begins
to form, something protruding
from the surface, something…
Terrible.
The Leviathan.
IX
A supreme stillness…
The Leviathan steps a fin on
shore.
Then another.
Into the Field of Moonlight,
having become a hyper
structure, one giant magical
circle for one giant
sacrifice.
“I claim the powers of Leviathan!”
Cipher proclaims, riding the
beast, sliding a ceremonial
dagger across the throat, an
oil spill of blood pouring forth,
bathing the field.
X
The witches begin to disrobe,
basking in the blood, beneath
the blood moon.
XI
Owls, emerging from depths
of shadows, begin spiraling
around.
XII
“Hey Jackie.”
Cipher tosses a book with
empty pages to the top
of the pyramid.
XIII
Jackie pens a spell that captures
all the power generated by the
savage ceremony, which will be
accessible to all participants.
Closing the book, she looks at
the cover, letters begin to form
and manifest by an unseen hand:
Jackie’s Book of Shadows.
The End
:)
