two truths, one lie

Tell me a secret
make it a lie
you know I'll still love you
when it all falls apart

You linger in my veins
like the last high never faded
never mind that I'm so low, so low
you're the breath I never asked for
keeping me alive
when I'd rather be painting daisies
from the other side

Tell me a secret
make it a lie
sharpen the knife
then twist it
as you slide it in slow
make me believe
you can stop anytime you like
while I plead
is it over yet?
is it over yet?

Don't tell me I never wanted this
you don't know what I want
'cause you never asked
and you don't have what it takes
to break this cycle
of broken dreams
so we play pretend...

You tell me a secret
I tell you a lie
I tell you a secret
you tell me a lie
round and round we go
weaving stories that sit
like smoke in our lungs
turning everything to cancer
with each inhale we choose to buy

Tell me a secret
make it a lie
you know I'll still love you
when it all falls apart

Tell me a secret
I'll tell you a lie

(I'll always love you)
