Black Feathers

Black feathers in the breeze
Soaring over mountains seas
Taming wind in perfect ease
He flips in mid-air as a tease
And I wonder if a raven sees
And if perhaps he hears my pleas
I down here and on my knees
Whispering lift me with you please
I'll trade you cheese

Author's Note
I believe that the raven is not only highly intelligent
and the most skillful flyer of all
but that he has magical qualities to him

I am not prone to envy, but watching a black feathered friend
soaring above me, doing mid-air-flips even, happily cawing,
I only wish I was flying with him
