The Way of Love
(With AverageJoe)
If love has a place and way of being
I'm lost in the heaven of your eyes
As laughter fades into soft spun moments
Glances linger, golden as summers day
Shimmer, the warmth of your breath, near
Blurring, melting into a kiss
Parched, I drink of your love-soaked lips,
Your desire drenching me to the bone;
When the cosmos fades, leaving nothing
Save you and I, stranded on hope;
We will spend all of eternity with our limbs
Entwined in healing constellations
Your murmur, Love
The spell song of my desires
Forever bound within this moment
Now, as kisses rain, turn savage storm
Lightning flashing in our gaze
Fierce, drenched, sweet yielding flesh
A roiling ocean grappled by rough hewn hands
Your groans crash upon the shore
Of my raptured senses,
A tidal rush that sweeps away
The boundaries of a savored reality,
Leaving only the salty taste
Of ecstasy in its wake;
My throat sings a siren song
For you and only you
Love but wanderlust of the soul, found home
From first errant kiss to last shared breath
Beneath wondrous star strewn heavens
Yet, heaven pales to the beauty of your eyes
Kiss me, love me again
Let me be once more lost within their light
