quiet
plain Jane
just a house mouse
past my youth
so they ignore me
look right past...
counting me out of the fight
...fools

let me tell you
what this disregarded observer sees
while they're overlooking little ol' me

knowledge is power...
so they stunt our education
making it easier to spoon feed the masses
lies they've disguised as reality
pap with no actual nutrients
the sheep will eat it up
& ask for seconds

they view diversity...
...as a threat to their own mediocrity
& what they are is as good as they'll ever get
but they don't want you questioning that
or even noticing
so...okay...let's ban it
forbid anything not beige
white wash the colorful Truth

we are...all of us...
beautiful
however...
theirs is only evidenced...
...on the outside
the interior is rotten to the core

& now here I am
silent in observation only
as words rise from thought
...bursting...
...into outraged scream
