Melting Away

My heart is a snowstorm on Cliveden street
A mysterious beauty hidden under a cold covering
Memories of blue dresses
Bike rides under North Carolina sun
Body heat , innocence taken during cold Philadelphian nights
All wrapped up inside a haze of opaque smoke
Clouding my judgement
Letting this snowstorm blow over
Boys like summer days melting away inhibitions
Leaving me in a daze
Amazement in my eyes
When i realized that this is life
and I’m no longer a child
No Longer able to play in those snowstorms on Cliveden Street
Beauty erased by burn wounds and passion marks
