Prisoner Behind My Eyes
I am a prisoner behind my eyes.
Oh! There is no gatekeeper!
I am trapped forever by psychosis.
And there is no quality of life here within.
My mind is a padded prison cell
where restrained, I throw myself into the walls.
I scream for help, but there is no reply.
I gaze on through my eyes to freedom,
but there is no way to signal for help.
Gazing on over the years helpless,
I’ve grown old and cold towards life.
I don’t feel there is a god to protect me.
