So What of a Broken Heart

So..
what can be said
about a heart that stays
chronicly broken...
used habitualy in seething
games of chance...like a sick
game of russian roulet...
what can be said....or
should there be an intervention
for  the faint of heart...sort of
a lonely hearts/broken hearts anonymous
meeting that intervenes at the point
of a heart vanishing all together into
that nothingness bottomless place
we call heartbreak....
Tell me...
what can be done
how do we as human beings cope with
an emotion so staggering and so...
piercing to the soul that you are literaly
left bereft of nessesary life force
as you pick up the blown up bits of
what is left of your heart....
the heart knows so many scenarios
Unrequited Love
Love desired but not returned
Love had and lost
Love had and squandered
Love admired from afar and not acknowledge
so many types of wounds.....
just not quite as many cures....
and here I sit...again
with my heart in my hands....
what to do with it now...
thats its been discarded...
before I could even give it away properly.
and as is...
I barely have enough thread to fix it
this time....
I guess I better keep my heart to myself
before...it simply
stops beating
all
together
