Forest of Hope
The world tipped on its axis,
and shadows danced through the trees,
as whispers turned to echoes,
and the echoes turned to pleas.
A canopy of giants,
with arms that reach and sway,
they shield all my burdens,
but cannot keep at bay,
the fire inside,
the storm brewing near,
where joy and fear collide,
in the turmoil of the year.
Leaves spiral like memories,
caught in currents of despair,
while I sift through their remnants,
searching for what’s fair.
What once felt like forever,
now a fleeting dream,
truth slips through my fingers,
like a fragile, silver stream.
Caught in this tug-of-war,
between heart and mind’s decree,
the heart sings sweetly of hope,
while the mind charts the sea.
But the waves crash unforgiving,
their coldness leaves her numb,
wildfires of affection smolder,
where once warm embers thrummed.
Yet, oh, how she loves,
and how fiercely she dares,
with her petals on the ground,
and the sadness in her airs.
A warrior cloaked in anguish,
in the armor of her heart,
she fights to find the sunshine,
even when she feels torn apart.
But there comes a moment,
when the jacket must be shed,
the weight of heavy sorrow,
has grown too great to tread.
To rise like leaves in autumn,
to dance through storm and strife,
to embrace the fleeting beauty,
that is the essence of her life.
Though her heart may dream in colors,
and idealize the scars,
with every twist and turn,
she finds wisdom among the stars.
For in every leaf that tumbles,
and in every tear that falls,
she breathes the truth of living,
and answers her own calls.
So I sit among the trees,
in solitude I find,
the disarray is fleeting,
and there’s peace within the mind.
For though despair surrounds me,
like shadows in the light,
the heart will learn how to heal,
and how to love more bright.
and shadows danced through the trees,
