Have to teach the kids
How to duck and run

Are you fucking serious
Hiding behind the Bible

Instead of addressing
Our gun problem

So now religion is teaching gun violence
Or hiding under desks

Instead of addressing
The real nut of our times

If I have to teach my kid
To take precautions

Just because of gun violence
Seems like I lost before I began

How about tackling the
Real problem

Instead of hiding behind Jesus
Thumping Bible now a gun

Never say a word to them
About what’s around the corner

Want them to live their
Childhood experience

Putting ghosts and demons on them
Seems so fucking wrong

So now I have to fight
On many fronts
God and government

Just to tuck in and say sweet
Dreams to them
