Image for the poem Let Me Live

Let Me Live

I could be heartless,
wish death upon you,
watch you be swallowed by the soil
to take this pain away with you.

I could be hopeless,
weep for an end upon your phantom,
beg your ashes to vanish
to let me live.

I could be lifeless,
leave you to your fate,
bury my own
and still my breath instead.
