Image for the poem May I Never Wither

May I Never Wither

All beauty is fleeting!
May I never wither with age,
But die while still filled with life
And its sultry desires.

Gazing down at our union,
I gasp with delight,
Grateful that my journey
Has not yet found its end.

There will be ample time
For solitude in the grave.
Time for worms to savor
My promiscuous remains.

This body, so easily surrendered
To the sweetest of pleasures,
Will, in time, return to dust.
Yet, for a season, I’ll live on

In the cherished memories
Of those I've loved,
And in the lingering echoes
Of their fervent lust.
