Decision Made

It finally happened    
The universe put a hard stop    
On a life going off the tracks    
   
Two lines appeared    
Gleaming  in the light of the bathroom    
Positive    
   
Death and life at once    
Breathing and not breathing at once    
Immortality and inevitability at once    
   
Alone surrounded by four walls    
An unusual silence encased itself around you.    
Decide!  
   
 Pulse is beating so hard it hurts.    
Heart squeezed by ribs that are meant to protect    
Hot then cold then…..    
   
“Hey, is it positive?”  
Decision made.    
“Yes”
