Are we talking the arcades and the freak show at Coney Island circa 1960's/1970's? Between W16th & Jones Walk was the Bowery. That's where all the action was. In front & in back of these arcades.
This was brilliant. Nostalgic, Gritty, Authentic, Raw. Made in NYC!  

It was a collection of places.
Porn theaters like the Pussycat Lounge was a good place for some play to pay lunatic fringe sex . All the mailmen used to go there on their lunch breaks.  Did you ever wonder what those mystery sticky spots on your letters were ?  Off subject buy you got me thinking...

HA! Well my parents opened the mail. I didn't. They probably had to deal with those sticky spots.
NYC is filled with wonderment and awe. Now it's filled with faux lifestyles and people that are destroying the cities soul & character.

It's a different city now but if you look behind the green door there's surely something you'll like and want to write about ...

Love the title and Bukowski-esque approach. Can't tell if this is 80s and just last week, but who goes to arcade lately. Doesn't matter, it's a cool phenomenal write.
