A Journey under Moonlight

I didn't know his name, I still don't
but I chased him through incarnations
beneath the moon's soft and silvery glow
I journeyed from a child to a woman

a solitary figure travelling steady and slow
preferring the night cos the timeless space
placed me under its velvet embrace
the shadows dim against the grey

a wanderer's heart beats with the impossible
the perfection of twilight sculptured
in the dappled shadows of symmetrical trees
yet missing that name that beckoned

like twinkles of shared dreams
he painted his allure in brightness
of the millions of stars spread across
the sky, an albatross on my love sigh

my journey feels endless yet it is short
it is a quest without a trophy
a journey without a destination
and I travel on indefinitely
