Beautiful Nightmare

 
Spellbound by this heartbreaking love  
He is frozen under a pale moonlight  
The countless nights of hell tell a tale  
That burns at the core every night  
 
And yet in the yearning there is an ecstasy  
An exquisite torture of pleasure and pain  
Where paradise and perdition intertwine  
When his lips bleed by speaking her name  
 
It all goes back to the first time they met  
Bodies and spirits felt so damn attracted  
But when she looked deep into his eyes  
He felt as if his soul had been extracted  
 
Her smiles and kisses are alive in his memory  
The night air fills his head with silent dread  
Her bated breath brings him to the brink of death  
His heart beats slower as it’s torn to shreds  
 
She takes his fire and shares it elsewhere  
And comes back for more whenever she is cold  
By morning she’s gone like a beautiful nightmare  
The dream he longs to keep but hates to hold
