Off of the Tint

See the reflection
Off of the tint

Bloody violence is the scene
Feeling Dakota in the big apple

One who walks among angels of music
Just laid down a new track
Watching the wheels spinning
As he gets into the limousine

Sittin beside him is his lady
No she didn’t break up the Beatles

She’s his companion
Through this twisted world
Skin on skin with baby Sean

Beautiful boy waiting upstairs
Pulls the handle steps out
He’s a gentleman so
Yoko goes first

Jesus steps out of the car
Not going cold turkey

Proceeds to the building
She passes the assassin
He allows her to pass through

A step behind walks a legend
Just put down a great song

Swimming in his head
He’s thinking about the
New album

Doesn’t notice his true killer
Steps past him and
Bullets start flying

4 shots in the back
He stumbles up the steps
Into the vestibule
Where he drops dead

Yoko screams like a banshee
Please someone save him

She turns and the ambulance leaves
Looks down picks up his bloody glasses

Author's Note
Just think of all the music that died on December 8th 1980. We lost a musical god because some shit thought he was Holden Caulfield.  What a loss
Note: Those are his glasses in the picture. I saw them at a Lennon exhibition at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame I think in 2002. At that time they didn’t allow photography.
