This sounds more complex than what is being said on the surface, I think. The tangled emotions & reasons why your union has come about are largely unexplored, but I like that, that ability to ponder & the space you allow for us to do so. There's much to like about this story, even the background noises which hint at being in the office or a café, giving this outpouring a very real time & spur of the moment feel. 😊

First off, beautiful voice. It was feminine, vulnerable, and true.
Your tone of voice kept with the theme of being hurt.

Everything expressed here is spot on the thought process of
being betrayed. Coming to terms with what has transpired and handling it with dignity
and self-respect.

There isn't a way to get around losing that trust in someone you thought
had your back. Especially when you've been vulnerable with them Sharing something
you thought would be valued.  You expressed this musing wonderfully:)
