               Patricia

Patricia
glides in
stilettos
leaving a wake
of longing
that could be
captured in
tiny bottles
and hidden
in faraway
deserts

She embodies
indifference
aloofness

tantalizes like
a wild orchid
a psychedelic purple
with a hint of white
justbeyondreach

Patricia
shakes the drinks
really well
her cocktails are
the best in town

What joy to watch
her in action

primal-unfazed-distant

She undulates as
passion ovulates
in thorny balls
way down the
spinal cord

Her face is flat
always
not even a scowl
like a Kaurismaki
character

She is
a go-getter
probably a mother
a scorned lover
who knows

She plays
Duke Ellington
Cole Porter

thanks when
tipped

She
never makes
exceptions

Tonight our eyes
met and I uncorked
a few bottles from
the desert

It's unbearable now
tickticktick

I know that she
knows that I
know it all too well

Every minute is a dagger

every gin and tonic

a bomb

which she hands out
nonchalant as ever

probably she knows
which wire to cut
damn woman
