Former Plant Killer

I killed plants labeled indestructible
Black thumb that I had
I was desperate to keep those things alive
I nurtured them to death
Never realizing
That was the problem
When you step back
And let be
That’s when you give life
Loving
Isn’t smothering
Loving
Is
Granting the freedom to blossom

If you can’t keep a plant alive, you have no business trying to keep a relationship alive.

That’s why I don’t do relationships right now. I know better.
But it doesn’t mean I won’t later.
