Former Plant Killer
I killed plants labeled indestructible
Black thumb that I had
I was desperate to keep those things alive
I nurtured them to death
Never realizing
That was the problem
When you step back
And let be
That’s when you give life
Loving
Isn’t smothering
Loving
Is
Granting the freedom to blossom
Black thumb that I had
I was desperate to keep those things alive
I nurtured them to death
Never realizing
That was the problem
When you step back
And let be
That’s when you give life
Loving
Isn’t smothering
Loving
Is
Granting the freedom to blossom

I do better with animals and humans.
My last plant purchase many years ago was some hanging beautiful expensive flowering item that I killed within days.
Wildflowers suit me just fine in parks and Vistas...
Lotta wisdom here

Same here….
But I haven’t had a pet in years. I’m a huge cat fan. Miss my Baby. 30 pound tabby. Loved to sleep on my hip.
Love me some wildflowers too. Way over there where they belong.
Thanks, PS

I have a plant...Gus Gus...that I've managed to keep alive for almost a decade. Mostly because I leave him alone. The urge to nurture is staggering but getting out of our own way is the most healing.

Hey beautiful lady…
Gus Gus, I love that. A decade?! That says something. It really does.

I only keep plants that do well with neglect. Cactus-type things. I'm more nurturing with things that are mobile and have voices, so they can remind me they exist! 😆

I wasn't able to keep a plant alive, I most certainly don't have a green thumb.
Monsteras however seem to thrive here: I have (looks around) three, alive & kicking.
...your piece reminds me of the movie "28 Days" with Sandra Bullock, hilarious movie...

I don't know if I've seen that, I'll have to look it up. You know me and my memory, lol.

It really is a good movie, both funny and deeply moving. It's about people who spend 28 days in rehab together.
