The Stallion
turning to the openness of the desert my soul flies free
there is deep magic here a colt on his first run
racing the wind it is caught up in the wonderment of the moment
an Arabian stallion praising the sun and worshipping the earth below
running in concert with her voice
a sentient being in love with his world
he understands the shifting winds
leading him onward
the summer rains lead to an oasis
he can smell the delicate outpouring from heaven
happiness is freedom from being part of the herd
lawless and chasing his dream
the sun rises in the east every day
mischief is on his mind
each hill and valley a new journey
a miracle of thought matching the soul of the dawn
a horse looking for his creator
he runs the gauntlet of dread
and when he has run out of steam
the mirage turns into a great lake
and once again the herd rejoices
their plight in his hands
he has carved them after his very essence
free as the wind a calm settles over them
