Where Rivers Flow

There once was a man whose soul bled blue
Who thought he had no more he could do
So he hung his heart and hung his head
He drank his coffee and made his bed
He walked through life making others laugh
Because he couldn’t bear the thought of what he once had
He refused to see what was in front of him
The mirror who spoke in antonyms
He wasn’t the monster like he felt inside
He wasn’t the alien who caused others to run and hide
Underneath the mistakes was a man who did his best
Who was wounded by the love he professed
What he needed was someone to stand by his side
To brush off his coat and his wounded pride
To catch the tears that he wouldn’t let go
And sit with him where rivers flow
The thing is, he already has someone like this
And he doesn’t have to waste a wish
She’s been waiting by patiently
She also knows that sometimes it takes someone to say things not so quietly
So, here’s the kick is the ass you need my friend
Life’s short
We all make mistakes
It doesn’t mean you’re a bad person
Suffering in silence is going to get you killed
That’s what silence does
You know this
And I for one
Ain’t putting up with that
Talk to me
Or I’m hunting you down
And killing you myself
