Landmines
I thought that I could see just
what it was that's killing me
I stepped in holes up to my knees,
my courage tested my reality
From hell to heaven, I will declare,
just what angels really dare
to lend me wings with feathers strong so
I can fly from all the wrongs
I lift my feet from this ground
But every step brings me back down
These holes are landmines in disguise
Past loves and losses that still rise
Exploding truth into my eyes
And tearing open old goodbyes
Yet angels whispered in my ear
That every wound can disappear
If I can rise above the pain
And learn to dance within the rain
I'll find the strength to carry on
And turn these landmines into song
what it was that's killing me
I stepped in holes up to my knees,
my courage tested my reality
From hell to heaven, I will declare,
just what angels really dare
to lend me wings with feathers strong so
I can fly from all the wrongs
I lift my feet from this ground
But every step brings me back down
These holes are landmines in disguise
Past loves and losses that still rise
Exploding truth into my eyes
And tearing open old goodbyes
Yet angels whispered in my ear
That every wound can disappear
If I can rise above the pain
And learn to dance within the rain
I'll find the strength to carry on
And turn these landmines into song
