The scarlets

The gears of war chisels the lines
Firms the furrow
and leadens the gaze
This tumult was built on pride
But the thrill to deride is
the very sin
that ignites
the dissenter’s forum

The upper echelon—
collecting the hypothetical bullets
to refresh
their unconscious musings
Abusing the innocence of our boys
to silence
the chatter of their rivals
The apex of the wretched and furious folk
committing to a ration of slaughter

A chessboard rife with obligatory pawns

The battlefield never corrupted their vision
yet as the incision bleeds
It’s the scarlets who stifle the view
