Unwilling To Conform
Burning the candle at both ends
Constantly being spread razor thin
Running sprints never marathons
Some races weren’t meant to win
Taking risks in this constant game
Doubling down on chaos tomorrow
Breaking free from a stagnant view
That bankrupts all those who follow
Driving communication to the brink
Navigating through this angry storm
Nothing ever bothers the status-quo
Except all of us unwilling to conform
Constantly being spread razor thin
Running sprints never marathons
Some races weren’t meant to win
Taking risks in this constant game
Doubling down on chaos tomorrow
Breaking free from a stagnant view
That bankrupts all those who follow
Driving communication to the brink
Navigating through this angry storm
Nothing ever bothers the status-quo
Except all of us unwilling to conform
Author's Note
Late night musing. This is not straight up political by any means. It kinda started out like I was talking about myself then the World's problems crept into the picture. It seems like there's no escape.

Re. Unwilling To Conform
You did a good job of building upon your concept all the way through. The synonymous elements capture the mood of the picture you were painting. Solid description, but clean and tidy, your presentation has a refreshing give and take balance. Nice carrying of a rhyme scheme as well. This seems to be an internally haunting disposition within oneself, upon the realization of how evil, corrupt, immoral, and dark the world is. Life is kind of a gamble and game, and there is definite risk involved. Some of this seems to pertain to rebellious nature too, because of, or enforced by, the surrounding environments and detrimental relationships with people. It could also be just seeing things and being frustrated, knowing some certainties about life (like death and hopelessness). Overall, quality stuff here. You have quite a smooth skillset. Thanks for sharing!

You have a unique gift of capturing darkness and injustice in the neat and tidy way you do. Easy to read, and see the direction you're going, as your rhymes unfold, and your vocabulary shines.

I don't know why, but I always read your poetry at a fast speed as if that's the way you wrote it then it's "mic drop"
You make me think and I like that. The last two lines make me think of the movie " Metropolis"
Thank you for sharing.

This started out about you? Your muse is taking you places you never knew you needed to be. Nicely done.

Yes it did. But through a quick edit it kinda changed to fit the narrative. I basically took out the pronouns that were in there. Anyways my muse is kinda all over the place most of the time. Thanks so much for your kind words and continued support, Fia. It means a lot to me. Appreciate you.
