She's a challenge..
Had a hard time getting another dog after my Ginger passed away.  She was my heart but time has a way of letting in a new arrival and off to the races we went....

it hurts to remember, whether it is a time, a thing or a person... N in your case, ginger...

Ginger was 18 months old when I rescued her and 16 1/2 when she passed.  That was a long go for a big dog.  Both Ginger and Onyx are mixed breed hounds.  They are always a challenge.  Onyx loves people and drinking water...

Aww, I love dogs. They can consume your life, but without them, we can be so lonely.
I had five kittens I rescued. They were all siblings. They live 19 years. They each died a few months apart from each other. I never cried so much. Now I have a dog, Zoey. I can't conceive of losing her.

I've always had dogs but in between I had my Calico cat that I got at 8 weeks and that girl went to 19.  So yeah, animals rock ...
Great kudos to you for taking on 5 cats at once.  Sorry for their loss but you had a long go too.  Zoey is a great name.  I briefly had a pit mix named Ziggy.  He was a love boat too but I  didn't have the space for a 6 month old high energy puppy.  I found him a new home up in the country that suited his wildness..

Adores people and gives a lot of love so she gets it back in spades.  Everyone loves her instantly.  We walked 5 miles today ...

The great thing about dogs is you can let them bend the rules without it going to their heads. They don't lord it over you. We really don't deserve them.
