One October Night

She remembers the night well.
How could she ever forget the experience? It was passion and love
blended in perfect harmony with raw lust. She was sure this must be what making love meant. She knew in her frayed heart that nothing again could ever compare to that night with him. It was burned in her mind with the power of the desert sun.
As she sat on her bed with tear stained eyes she wondered if he felt the same way.
He told her in the past that he would never forget it and that it was the dance of their bodies and the mingling of the rare gift they had shared. She is well aware that it might sound ridiculous, that many people may tell her she is crazy. She knows now that she cannot possibly with mere words come close to describing the exquisite night she is referring to. But she knew and he knew that it was something special; something few experience. He told her it would stay locked in his heart and mind forever. Surely he meant those love soaked words..he had to have. He could not deny the passion and the fire between them.
She was certain he felt it and knew it.
She was certain that she had lit a spark in him that had never been lit before.
She was certain that night in the pitch black as their bodies blended together into a combination of sweet erotic pleasure and sensual sweat that she would never have that experience again..maybe not even with him.
It could not be recreated.
Even as she groped for thoughts to remember she felt as though she was doing the experience a disservice. She lay there alone haunted by the memories. They replayed in her mind over and over. She could not make them stop. She really didn't want to. She could take herself right back to that room in the dark on that crisp October night. She could smell the musky scent of their lovemaking hanging in the air ,She could hear his breathing in her ears now. She could feel his sweat drenched body clinging to hers. She could smell his skin. The intoxicating aroma of musk and pine. She could feel his soft beard tickle her face. She could hear him whisper "I am so in love with you babydoll.." She could feel his chest pressed to hers, hearts in perfect rhythm. He can't forget this. He couldn't. She won't let him. He was her life, her knight, her shining star, her rock, her hero, her poet, her love...She lay there sobbing tears of heartache and wishing she was in his amazing arms right then. She isn't sure she will make it. She had never felt this way before. All she could do was wait and hope that he felt it too. She was haunted by that night in October and always would be.
