Red Dress - Last Wishes
My Dearest Ava,
If you’re reading this, it means I’m dead. Don’t imagine me somewhere better...or worse. I've simple ceased to exist and that’s final. There is no heaven or hell, so I don’t mourn me since I can’t know anything now. Simply carry your memories of me as you continue in life.
Among the treasures I leave behind, there is one that holds memories of the most pivotal moments of my journey – that red summer dress in a hanging bag on the left side of my closet.
This dress is woven with memories dear to my heart. It was the garment I wore when I first made love with your father under the stars, the ocean whispering its ancient song. It was also the dress that graced my body on the magical night that led to your conception, a night where human affection bloomed into a new life.
It is my wish to wear this red summer dress at my last viewing. (Yes, it still fits I’m proud to say.) Let it be a symbol of love, passion, and the beauty of life as I am laid to rest, embraced by the flames of cremation.
Remember, my love, that this dress, much like life, is the fabric of stories that makes up our lives. Cherish it, as it is now a part of our shared history, and let it remind you always of the love that brought you here and the love I will forever hold for you.
With all the love in my heart,
Mom
