Prayer for Ava

May you find loves, pure and true,
worthy of the wholeness of you,
to cradle your spirit in sweet embrace,
and reflect your light with endless grace.

May your body know the warmth of sun,
the soft of rain and the joy of dance.
May pleasure be ever upon your tongue.
May you find loves in life’s game of chance.

And when it’s time for your life to pass,
may you find death a sweet release,
remembering all the loves you gave,
surrendering to eternal peace.

Author's Note
While breast feeding Ava, I thought of the whole of her life. It might seem morbid but as she suckled hungrily at my tit, I couldn't help but think of her inevitable death.
