Grief and a Vow

Delicious pain crawling up your heart
Blackness ebbing, shadows in the dark.
Take a step just to see,
You love to live dangerously.

Coarse fibers pressing to your palm
Send a mournful cry, a very last psalm.
How close you are, my forlorn man.
Take another step, I know you can.

Loop around the ropes end,
Look back on it all, I would recommend.
Adorn your final necklace
It's time to find your resting place.

One more step, and it all falls away.
No more love, no more pain.
I've heard you cry to me and I bring you solace
I've missed you my love, soon you'll be flawless.

I haven't been there to comfort your grief.
Hear me! Soon there will be relief!
So follow me down, follow your heart.
I promised you forever, till death do us part.
