We Are Me
Im having a conversation with my other self
So I guess that means Im crazy
The real validation I find for this
Is that it doesnt seem to phase me
Two entities in one mind battling it out
We can't seem to find common ground
Its in both of our interest for us to agree
But the conflicts still abound
I want to rise up and do something more
Dont want to stay trapped in this pit
He likes it better when I'm all alone
Self loathing and feeling like shit
I have to find a way to come together
I need to bring an end to this war
We've been on separate sides for too long
The task is to try and restore
Instead of me trying to shut him out
Maybe I should let him come in
Have a dialog and both say our piece
So the healing can finally begin
If that means Im insane, Im ok with that
Cuz right now my minds split in two
This battle has been waged for so many years
I think its time to try something new
I dont think this conflict can be won through hate
It feels like love is the key
The path to the realization
That I am him and he is me

I used to explain my brain as two different people. There was the mean one, that protected me, and gave me so many answers to my questions, and the scared one, that asked the questions and fought the mean one all the time. They are still there, and more have come in. I've come to accept the fact that I am crazy LOL! All of them meet in the middle somehow, and help me. Even the mean darkness can help a bit sometimes. Pushing them all away is never a good idea. They are all you and you are all them. like you said. love is the key. Love is always the key. Pursue love, if not happiness.
I know exactly what you mean. There is more than 2 in my head as well. It's just that the darkness is so damn loud and dominant. When he speaks or takes control, all the other ones back down and become quiet.
Meeting in the middle is my current goal. I need balance. It would be really nice if they could combine into one but unfortunately trauma has a way of fracturing the mind, or maybe the fracturing is the minds way of coping with the trauma. I dont know that my mind will ever be whole again but I have to at least find a way for them to coexist.
On a side note, Ive been noticing that you are getting a bit more wordy in your responses. Im here for it. You're smart and you bring a lot of good and valuable insight from your experiences. Keep it up. You have something to say, so keep finding your voice. So damn proud of you!

Brilliant write. I know this story all to well. I also suffer from two voices in my head. One is good the other not so much. But they are constantly there. For along time the darker one ran rough shot over me. It was a dark time that has went on for over 30 years. He's still there but he's not as loud as he once was. I keep him in check these days, but he's always waiting for me to slip up. With the temptation in this cruel world. Well it's an everyday struggle to stay on the path. Love can conquer all. Best of luck in getting the upper hand. Appreciate you.

I really appreciateb you sharing experience. There really is some comfort in knowing that there are others out there who can relate to what you're going through im happy to hear you found your way to keep the dark in check. Im working on trying to find a balance myself
