while watching the world end
while watching the world
end
I light a smoke and blow
rings that circle my head
like Saturn
while watching the world
end
I make another sandwich
and think about a testimonial
to John Fante
while watching the world
end
I think about all the good
times, all the bad times,
all the indifferent times and
realize the indifferent times
won out
while watching the world
end
I remember and laugh at
the punchline of a terrible
joke I heard
years
ago
while watching the world
end
I listen to Bach's Well
Tempered Clavier for
a thousandth time
and still
cry
while watching the world
end
I lie in my favorite spot
and see my dreams fall
like ripe apples from the
tree
while watching the world
end
I don't ask God any questions
because his hands a quite full
right at this
moment
while watching the world
end
I learned that love is a
snake that strikes you
when walking thru
high grass
while watching the world
end
I am suddenly glad that
you are gone and I am
still here
while watching the world
end
I tune in to an old black and
white T.V. show and sing
along with the theme
song
while watching the world
end
