Follow Me To The Countryside
come live in the countryside
come live in the countryside
and sip the milk of the goat
in the clean pastures they graze
a fresh meat, and a shiny coat
come breathe the dewy herb
the clean morning's purest time
such balm nothing may curb
the best poetry needs no rhyme
come and cuddle a milch cow
udders hanging low with milk
too much to feed a whole town
and give soft skin like silk
come with an empty pen in hand
no worry if you lack the skill
once you land on a poetry land
your genuine verse shall spill
and if you even follow a flock
a herd of sheep into the pastures
at the morning shriek of the coq
dawn's zephyr is heaven's booster
or, come for a while uphill
on shepherd's pathway trodden
quite and meek you will feel
the secret of beauty is gotten
if you do not come up, then go out
nature knows where humans must be
here among its bowers throbbing ribs
not stoned, heartless in the city
